SELENA LIVES!

Get ready to hear new Selena music that sounds like “it was recorded this morning”. That’s right! A few weeks ago we’ve posted information about A.B Quintanilla’s plans of releasing remixed a capellas of Selena’s early recordings. Since then more information has surfaced. “As we’re speaking, we selected 10 songs and we’re taking the vocals out of the original recordings and A.B. is doing new music, bringing it up to date,” said Mr Quintanilla. “We already finished one, and it sounds as if Selena had recorded it this morning.”
“The vocal tracks were recorded when Selena was 14, 15, and 16, and the “new” album should be released later this year or in early 2012.”

The 10 songs being referred to are five pre-EMI masters, recordings that were made before Selena would sign a record deal with EMI (Latin). Stay tuned for information as it arrives!

While most of Selena’s best-known music belongs to and was re-released by EMI, her dad has a juicy surprise up his sleeve.

“I own five pre-EMI masters of Selena,” Quintanilla said. “As we’re speaking, we selected 10 songs and we’re taking the vocals out of the original recordings and A.B. is doing new music, bringing it up to date. We... already finished one, and it sounds as if Selena had recorded it this morning.”

The vocal tracks were recorded when Selena was 14, 15, and 16, and the “new” album should be released later this year or in early 2012.
