Joan Rivers vs. Chelsea Handler
Joan Rivers had the last word - for now - against fellow E! Network star Chelsea Handler Tuesday morning when she publicly bashed the late-night host for her dating history and supposed alcoholic tendencies.
"She's an ordinary girl that was f--king somebody high up in the industry and they gave her a break and she's doing okay," the fiery 78-year-old "Fashion Police" host said on Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show. "Number one, the girl made it on her back f--king the president, we all know that, of the network.
"Number two, she's fine, she's ordinary. She's not a genius."
Handler, 36, dated 56-year-old Ted Harbert, the CEO of Comcast Entertainment Group, for four years before the two split in 2010.
On Monday, however, it was Handler who was making angry quips against Rivers.
"Joan Rivers? What the f--k do I care about Joan Rivers?" she shot back to Stern when asked about her reaction to Rivers' recent criticism of her.
According to Handler, Rivers made a rude comment toward her at a network event.
"Joan Rivers gets up and she's like, I'd like to thank Chelsea Handler for giving me a career in comedy (mock laughing), and congratulations on your stage, Chelsea, because I don't even have a dressing room," Handler described the situation.
"And I'm like, f--k off!"
Rivers, who is known for her biting wit and callous commentary on the red carpet, claimed that her harsh words only came in response to problems Handler started in the first place.
According to the outspoken host, the rift between the two began when Handler rudely ignored her at that same network event.
Regardless of who is to blame for casting the first stone, however, one thing is for certain: the feud won't be ending anytime soon.
"Whatever she is, she's a drunk," Rivers said of the blond comedienne. "I don't wish her good luck, I don't wish her bad luck.
"I don't think she's particularly funny. But don't you come after me, you wh-re!"
