Also during Sunday's show, Jennifer Lopez was presented with the Icon Award. Lopez gave another debut performance on the night with a rendition of "First Love," a single lifted from her new studio album A.K.A., which is set for release on Capitol Records June 17.
Among the other performers were Miley Cyrus and Flaming Dragons, Katy Perry, OneRepublic, Iggy Azalea and Ariana Grande and Michael Jackson in a special hologram performance.
Ludacris hosted the ceremony, which aired live on ABC from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
