R.I.P. Whitney Houston (1963-2012)

Whitney Houston died yesterday afternoon at the age of 48. The Grammy award-winning performer’s death was confirmed to the Associate Press by her rep, Kristen Foster. According to TMZ, paramedics were allegedly called to the Beverly Hilton hotel earlier today after Houston was found “unresponsive” in her room; though an attempt was made to revive the singer, she was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. Beverly Hills police Lt. Mark Rosen has since verified that the singer did pass away at the hotel. Houston leaves behind one child, daughter Bobbi Kristina, with ex-husband Bobby Brown.

While Whitney Houston famously struggled with drug and alcohol abuse, entering rehab as recently as last May, she will be remembered most for her two Emmys, six Grammys, 30 Billboard Music awards and 22 American Music Awards. More importantly, no other person knew exactly how much we wanted to dance with somebody who loves us. She will be desperately missed.
